yes thats right! I'm having a baby.
Blimey it hasn't really sunk in yet, its bloody strange to think how our lives are going to change, and that without knowing it, we just had our last Christmas as just husbondo and wifu.
Forever more we will be buried under nappies and toys, snot and puke.
I'm sure it will be fun, but I have basically been sea sick for the last three months...nice {hence blog absence}. So I'll be happy to have something to show for it one day. Still, collecting vintage baby clothes has taken my mind off the nausea somewhat.
Anyways, I'm not really into big announcements about personal stuff, but I have been itching to tell all you ethereal friends out there. However it is all scary as much as it is exciting, so I'm still crossing my fingers that all will go well {its going great so far though, I say touching wood}.
I'll try my best to keep pregnancy posts to a minimum because:
a. its boring
b. its not born yet
p.s. we'll find out the sex of the babe 'au naturel' {i.e when its bits meet the air}
p.p.s. its due in the autumn.
What a happy news, congrats!!
ReplyDeleteWhat joyful news ! Huge congratulations to you both. I love the little baby scarf, so cute. And remember kids and camping trips are lots of fun ! Big loves xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Artemis! That is such wonderful news! You two are going to be wonderful parents. That jumper with the scarf couldn't be cuter. Hope your morning sickness subsides quickly. And please do post about your pregnancy if you feel inclined to. It's priceless information for us girls that have yet to go through it; to know what to expect! :D I wish you all my very best!
ReplyDeleteNatalie x

Absolutely wonderful news - congratulations to you both x
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I have suspected this for a while (just because of your tiredness/absence etc....it rang a bell as it’s how I was when I was pregnant and trying to blog!). I hope you’re getting over all the sicky stuff and getting into the good/better bit. Yay - so happy for you guys! And very pleased to hear you will wait until it pops before finding out. One of life’s only real surprises. Take care :) x
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!! It really will be the best thing you have ever done! And what a wardrobe they will have, lucky small person. Really overjoyed for you both.
ReplyDeletecongratulations!!...I was very sick with my daughter- i had pregnant friends around me that were not sick at all...its funny how we all act different in our own bodies...hope yo feel better soon ;0)...Good luck with it all!!!! and yes enjoy the vintage baby clothing buying!- I remember finding a little duck blue vintage baby dress just before i knew i was having a girl i used to hold it up to my bump and imagine how my baby would look in it...To be honest i think children bring your life so much more rewarding adventures when your past the baby bit...And what an amazingly fabulous mum and dad you will both make you will make its childhood the biggest bestest adventure of them all- exciting! x
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for little more than a year - I think I might have been looking for good ideas for bunting or something when I found it and have been a regular reader ever since. Some of the things/ideas you have covered have really stuck with me - for example your lovely LOVELY shed - have been convincing the BF now that I need one of my own in our country house on Saaremaa island. Great news about the baby :)) Congrats to you both! We had our first baby boy just before Christmas and it turns out that babies are lovely... Yes, a little spit and dirty diapers are involved, but all in all - lovely, and not at all boring (as I had really honestly expected them to be). So I definitely will not mind a pregnancy/baby post or two:)
ReplyDeleteah big congrats! Such exciting news!
ReplyDeleteWonderful news - congratulations to you both!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It's going to be such a happy, cool baby. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteClaire
Congratulations to you and Nao! How exciting! Funny I just "came out" today on Facebook that I am expecting our first baby in September. It sure is strange to share such personal news in a big announcement - but its so lovely that you did.
ReplyDeleteI was pretty ill all through the first 3 months, but now that I've turned the corner into the 2nd trimester, I feel a bajillion times better. I hope the same holds true for you. It makes a world of difference. As a fellow pregnant lady, I for one will appreciate any of your posts, particularly relating to adorable vintage baby clothes. :)

ReplyDeleteYey! congratulations! I had my baby boy 8 weeks ago! It's the best. We didn't find out the sex either. Enjoy every moment, your life will certainly never be the same once he/she arrives.
ReplyDeleteI thought you might be!!!! That is so exciting! I wish you guys nothing but the best, you will be great parents.
ReplyDeleteOh, congratulations! Can't wait to see what vintage pieces you pick up :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finding that darling jumper! And on the pregnancy too! :)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely news!Congratulations to both of you.And baby-stuff is never boring so just keep it coming :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Artemis & Nao, this is wonderful news! I think I suspected it too. I am also pregnant, with twins due July & have been very sick! Hope you are feeling a bit better? We are also awaiting the sex 'au naturel', so exciting! I for another one won't mind any baby-related posts! We are currently looking at ways of expanding our sleeping arrangements in the camper van! ReplyDeleteI have been awaiting such an announcement ;-) Very happy for you both, you have no idea how your life will change, for the better, love like you have never even imagined will hit you like a comet, most wonderful thing in the world :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats from an empty-nester across the pond. Motherhood is wonderful.
ReplyDeletecongrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Such exciting news! We didn't find out the gender of either of our babies until they were born and it was such a wonderful surprise. I wouldn't do it any other way.
ReplyDeleteYaaaaaaay!!!! I think it's in the blog waters! Kinda like the baby boom back in my mums day... Teehee! I'm so glad to hear your news and also glad to hear that you think it's scary too... I totally agree ... It's bloody amazing to think we can grow people! Funny thing happens when you have them though... Instinct kicks in and you just kinda make it up as you go along. I always joke with my boy that he didn't come with a manual. Fancy life giving you instructions on how to connect your DVD player or install a printer but when it comes to yr biggest "purchase" - you just wing it! But you should know this for sure: any kid will be wrapped to have a Mum (&dad) as creative and cool as you two! PS - think of little baked bean toes, a soul that eclipses yours and the help you'll get Thrifting when you're old farts and can't lift anything :-) Xx
ReplyDeleteMany congratulations to you both!
ReplyDeleteArtemis that is wonderful news! Congratulations to you and lovely Nao. You will be able to do proper nesting soon in your new abode.
ReplyDeleteYay for nesting!

Yay! Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteHuge congratulations! This will be one cute and well dressed babe. You are probably near the end of the nausea, too... I hope the rest of your pregger time is comfortable to make up for it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations (from San Francisco)!!!! The new addition will be decked out in cute gear and blessed with amazing taste!
ReplyDeleteLoving the pregnancy nonchalance! Much congrats to you both, and hope it's a plain sailing pregnancy for you. There is definitely a huge baby boom occurring in my world at the minute... :)

But today How I couldn't?!
That's a great news, congratulations both of you. And just to let you know, pregnancy posts are not that boring ;)
Lovely stuff - and if that jumper and scarf are a measure of your taste in children's dress then you'e going to have a fabulously attired sprog. Lucky little thing.
ReplyDeleteSuch good news. :)

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful. Try not to be scared. I worried a lot during my pregnancy and everything turned out fine. Your life will change masses, but you will have your own special person who you will love SO much and I am sure will be the best dressed bambino in town.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you both. xxx
Congratulations Artemis and Nao! This is going to be the most artfully dressed, gorgeous little babe to reluctantly hit cyber-space. All the best with the sea-sickness!
ReplyDeleteThis is so wonderful love and congratulations to you both, I too waited till my child was born to find out the sex and when I saw my little girl it was the most joyful moment of my life, through thick and thin (and teenage years!) she continues to be the joy of my life I wish you equal love.
ReplyDeleteJane xx
Just one tip that I have to share with you Artemis (sorry to be predictable and hope you aren't bombarded with them) but...
ReplyDeletetry to kneel on the floor when you are relaxing at home (after the move!) rather than sitting on a sofa leaning back, as it will give you six months when you are helping to prepare the baby for being in the right position for labour. best tip I ever had. xx Annabel
Congratulations Artemis and Nao! This is a wonderful news! So happy for you! All the best for a peaceful semester until the little one shows up!

ReplyDeleteAhhh many many congrats! So thrilled for you both (and for Plimsoll, natch.)
ReplyDeleteSo pleased for you both.
ReplyDeleteI Knew It! I've been reading...and watching...and (~grins~) studying pictures of you. You said you were sick, that was my first clue, but then it continued and you just weren't up to par. I actually saw it in your eyes although I don't know how. My grandfather could tell in the same way so I must have inherited that talent from him. Also, you're moving to a larger flat. (happy dance for you) Congratulations! Your baby will be so blessed to have the two of you as parents.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lily!
ReplyDeleteActually its not a bigger flat, its still one bedroom, just a bigger kitchen.
We didnt chose to move, the landlady kicked us out, she wants the flat for her son! we will manage somehow tho.
But well done Miss Marple! ;)
What a great news !! félicitations !! ^_^
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with my first, and that feeling of a little being inside my tummy moving around is the most awesome thing I have ever experienced. Look after yourself and enjoy.

ReplyDeleteArtemis! I knew it was gonna happen soon. Congratulations! When did you find out??? We must meet up soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicola, but I'm so bloody sick of people smugly saying 'I knew you were gonna get pregnant' . It's kind of pointless thing to say, and it's not true....you just assumed so because I'm married...Yawn!!!
ReplyDeleteNo one else knows whats going to happen in our relationship except me and Nao.
Nobody knows they are going to get pregnant until the day they get pregnant.
Rant Over.
Let's meet up soon, but we are being kicked out of our flat at the mo so maybe at the end of next month when life has resumed normality. X
Huge congratulations!! I only just saw this thanks to my 8 week old little man keeping me thoroughly distracted. Motherhood is quite a ride but ultimately amazing!! I wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy. Megxx

ReplyDeletecongratulations!!
ReplyDeleteAw, Artemis and Nao... Huge congratulations to you - I don't comment on here a lot, but I do read, and I was wondering... because I've been through the same thing. Missing blog posts, generally feeling too tired to even think about writing etc. Because I'm expecting in June. It's exciting and terrifying all at the same time. Hope everything continues to go well for you - and congrats for not finding out the gender. We haven't either and are looking forward to the surprise. Take care and enjoy the rest of your nine months. It goes by in a flash after 20 weeks xx
