2 July 2015

and now it is july

Well, we are a wee bit frazzled over here. We are into the third week since we got the keys to our new Rust shop premises and we still have a lot to do! We are doing everything ourselves which will save us a few thousand pounds which is good...but very tiring. Last week we hired a big van and went to the mainland to see what furniture we could find for the shop. We'd also won a couple of things on ebay which needed to be collected as well, so it was a busy trip.
First we stopped at Ardingly where we found some nice cabinets and a shop counter.
Our nipper found a hedgehog.

We did come back with a few bits and bobs for display, and some blankets, we always buy blankets even in the middle of summer.

ha ha!

We couldn't resist this trike, it comes with a handle, perfect!

We had enough time for a mooch around Spitalfields and Angel too.

and the nipper bought some vintage hair clips from her pocket money.

We arrived back really late and had to unload everything to the shop before returning the van.

The next day we cleaned up the furniture and painted what needed to be painted. I'm really happy with how the look of the shop is evolving.

Whilst I was in London I popped into family tree shop, and I came away with these beautiful dog pouches by Rose De Borman

I also received an amazing package from Alice And The Thimble, it was full of the most exquisite handmade pressies I have ever seen! look at this little dog on wheels! and those letters! oh my oh my.

...and Alice had found this little hanky of the Isle of Wight, ahhhhh.

You can visit Alice's stall where she sells all this goodness at Greenwich, London. More info here
Thank you so much Alice, we love them all!! xx
