a tale of two birthdays

Me and my mister were born just a few days apart (not including years ; ) so we tend to join our birthdays together. Look at this cake my mum made for us! It is lemon cake with chocolate eggs on top.

Nao got up early to take these misty pics...

He gave me my pressie at midnight, and little vintage clockwork penguin...

and a log...

containing a 9ct gold clockwork key that he made in his shed!

I managed to finsih the knitted scarf just in time (actually I finished it at 1.30am on his bithday.

I made a sort of roughly sewn bag to wrap it in, stamped with fabric ink.

He like it!

and a handful of daisies from our kiddo...

On my birthday we had plans to go to a zoo but we ended up spending the day at a garden centre (oops) and then we went to the Garlic Farm for lunch (this is the Isle of Wight's most famous export!)

there was a stunning pine forest there and a herd of hairy cows

with a car full of plants and a full belly, I quickly got back to the knitting of the scarf pressie.

In between, we had a nice picnik on the beach near our home.

On Nao's bithday we went to Beaulieu in the New Forest, to go to the Motor Museum.

There are wild horses in the forest which roam freely about, even on the roadside.

London bus...

If I was to ever to learn to drive, it would be in this vehicle...

a tiny caravan given to Prince Charles when he was a nipper ...

and look!...

after that we stopped at Lymington for some fish and chips before catching the ferry back home.

someone fell asleep holding chip fork.

growing old is not too bad I suppose ; )
