Thames sailing

can you believe we went on a Dutch clipper down the Thames! Very kindly organsed by Husbondo Nao. We were so excited...we left at 9.30 from Woolwich Arsenal and got back 1.30am, it was such a beautiful boat, and there were a few other sister boats out too.

we went passed the dome, and precariously made it underneath the Olympic cable cars, I think the masts just skimmed the wires! Its extraordinary to see London from the water and as the sun went down. I am not familiar with this part of London at all.

Greenwich is so beautifully symmetrical.

this was one of the other boats.

Canary Wharf.

we got as far as Tower Bridge, then we turned around to see if we could catch a glimpse of the Fireworks at the Olympic closing ceremony. {they were a bit too far away but still beautiful glittering away in the distance}.

The boat itself is fascinating, and the staff on board offered us free drinks and food, they were very lovely Dutch ladies.

Unfortunately I think this was the last trip on the Thames for this group of clippers, but I know they do other trips from Germany to Scotland.
