You & Your Wedding magazine

.
a rather lovely lady from a wedding mag asked if I'd mind if they use some pics from my wedding! Of course, totally flattered, I said yes! and how nice of them to mention our Rust wedding rings too.

So, you can see the article in the latest {march/april 2011} edition of You & Your Wedding. Its all about how to save money during your wedding planning. I have to say that our wedding came in at around £2500, which is quite a lot in my eyes! I think the point should be that you are not 'saving' money {who wants to be prudish on their big day?} but it should be about the making and designing your own things for your wedding, it becomes part of your wedding day, which is better because the whole experience lasts longer than just a few hours.

When I look back at our wedding now, I feel such a sense of achievement, and my favourite memory is actually of us both making stuff in the garden in the sun, and getting excited about how it will all look!

That's a fantastic piece of coverage! So glad they mentioned Rust, too. I believe your shed could be getting some publicity too...!

  5. I loved your wedding, I saw it before I got engaged and thought man I'd like something like that. Well now I am engaged, and I'm aiming for something similar :) Congrats on the press!

That is some well deserved and long overdue coverage, if you ask me. Congratulations ;)

I love the way you talk about the preparations for the wedding, and I agree, it would be a very interesting angle for an article.

  8. Congrats, that's really cool! :) I think £2500 is pretty good for a wedding. I read that the average wedding is about £15,000! I can't imagine that - mine was very cheap... mostly because it was in India! :D

  12. This is my first comment since discovering your beautiful blog on a wedding site shortly after you were married, but I thought I best quit my lurking and tell you how gorgeous your day looked.

I was married around the same time last year, and Liberty prints featured quite heavily in our wedding too -- from the bridesmaids' dresses right down to the seating plan. I must blog the pics soon, it's been on by To Do list for months.

Anyway, congrats on the coverage; it's hugely-deserved and hopefully this will lead to many more opportunities!

  20. I found you on 100 layer cake and instantly became you and Nao's advocates after the mean comment and seeing another groom wearing shorts. I don't think you'd be featured in a magazine if your wedding was less amazing than what you guys created.

Rock on forever with your shorts-clad groom.

  21. Thats amazing! We had a similar budget, but far fewer arty touches (that's life with a toddler for you!) How wonderful :-)
