wedding set-up

here are a few snaps of some of the days before the wedding.
it was a very chaotic time and I'm still amazed at how much we actually managed to do.

above is New Covernt Garden flower market in London. We stuffed our boot on the way down to the Isle of Wight. It wasn't as cheap as i was hoping, but the choice is great and we were really happy to find something that suited our taste amongst all the candy coloured gerberas and roses!

we went for peonies and dehlias, and lots and lots of greenery.

the marquees were difficult to put up in the wind, but many hands make light work!
Thanks to Bib, they were tethered down securely.

My brother Bib even ironed some bunting...a rare sight.

and we potted up some herbs for the lunch table at the Apple Orchard Cafe.
I then tied white cotton ribbons around the pots and stuck a little flag we made in each pot.

I think we underestimated the amount of work we had to do, but luckily we had some great family support to help us out, so the wedding went ahead without any hitches!

  2. Loved your flower selection, Covent Garden is such a wonderful place...it's like being in a sweet shop. I thought the nursery provided the potted herbs, such a good idea...just perfect for the tables!! J
