grannylicious

Yup. It's a fact. I am truly on the downward spiral to grannydom... I love these new old things I found!
I remember these crocheted blankets as the epitome of bad taste, but now looking at them at a slightly different angle, they look kind of modern, a bit scandinavian modernist maybe, or maybe not?!

Any how, I see them around quite often so there might be some cropping up on the bucket tree quite soon!

And even better than that, look what I found at my local charity shop! For just £5 I get hours of fun re-upholstering, what a bargain...I'm off to Liberty's to get some colourful fabric and buttons for this one. I'm too excited, I might do it tonight!

  1. Those blankets are totally "in" again! I'm making one and I loooove it. I found a small "doll blanket" at a resale shop and just decided to keep crocheting around it to make it human sized. :)You can see it here:

  2. Or go for double fun: weave the fabric yourself!

  4. Yeah..isn´t it funny how one´s taste changes? I didn´t like these blankets for years, now I can´t stop making them. And my husband seriously doubted my sanity at first now he wants his own crocheted blanket. ;)

  5. I love those blankets! I see what you are saying about skandinavian/modern...definitely. Can't wait to see what you do with the stool. I have TWO of those in my basement but they don't have buttons.
